This Bedwork is a subjective visual rendering of the published conversation between Ross Bleckner and Felix Gonzalez-Torres in 1995. It stages the two artists in a ritualistic exchange of ideas, substances and clothing items such as socks, set around a kitchen table, atop a carpet filled with rose window ornamentations, emphasizing a sense of divine space and transcendence reached through the body. The drawing features a prominent light source that touches parts of the objects within the frame while obscuring others, creating an inlaid structure that reveals Ababri’s personal color codes, in a critical engagement with race and visibility.
