Jean-Charles Vergne Joins Forces with THE PILL in Landmark Collaboration

THE PILL® is thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter in its expansion with the appointment of Jean-Charles Vergne, former director of FRAC Auvergne, as its new collaborator. This partnership marks a significant milestone for The Pill and signals a dynamic new phase in the gallery's growth and development.

Jean-Charles Vergne brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the gallery, having made a significant impact during his three decade tenure at FRAC Auvergne, a French public institution, where he built a collection of over a thousand works acquired from artists of national and international renown. His deep understanding of art, combined with his institutional background, makes him an ideal partner for THE PILL® as it seeks to further establish itself as a leading force in the international art world. Jean-Charles Vergne has curated exhibitions and written books on artists such as Dirk Braeckman, Luc Tuymans, Raoul de Keyser, Mireille Blanc, David Lynch, Katharina Grosse, Marina Rheingantz, Gregory Crewdson, Richard Tuttle, Shirley Jaffe and others, sometimes showcasing their works for the first time in France and Europe.

"We are delighted to welcome Jean-Charles Vergne among us. His unique perspective and creative leadership will undoubtedly enhance our gallery's trajectory and contribute to our artists’ ongoing success. This collaboration represents an exciting opportunity to push boundaries and explore new artistic frontiers as we are in the process of institutionalizing the gallery."

"I'm particularly happy to join Suela Cennet and her team. Suela Cennet's enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to the artists she represents immediately convinced me that I wanted to be part of the gallery's history. Her vision and dedication have been decisive in bringing artists such as Eva Nielsen, Marion Verboom, Soufiane Ababri, Irem Gunaydin, Leylâ Gediz and Apolonia Sokol to international recognition. I am looking forward to contributing to the gallery's future dynamics, in particular through its forthcoming move to Paris, its ambitious program of publications and the arrival of new artists who are already joining us."
— Jean-Charles Vergne

The collaboration between Jean-Charles Vergne and THE PILL® will redefine the gallery's artistic direction and consolidate represented artists’ positions in the art world. Together, they aim to cultivate a diverse and compelling program that will captivate art enthusiasts and collectors alike. THE PILL® was established in Istanbul in 2016 and will expand its operations in Paris later this year.
